If the soul only had one chance at physical life, there would be no reason to continue striving to learn. "Get all you can while you are in a physical body because you can't take it with you," would be most people's motto. Then past lives would have nothing to do with the souls progression. There would be no reason to give them credence.

Christianity's central theme is that Jesus is the Son of God incarnate in a world of sin. He came here to teach us not to sin again.

Christianity also believes that after death there are only two choices for the soul, either heaven or hell. Christian leaders do not usually teach reincarnation.

As a child of God, we came to this earth to live life, learn lessons on this plane and evolve spiritually. God didn't make us do this. It was a conscious decision on our part. Being an individual who is part of the whole that is considered God, we must try to live our lives in the highest of spiritual-- not religious-- ways.

There is a difference in spirituality and religion. Religion is a belief system. Spirituality is living what you believe.

More people have been killed in the name of religion than in any war ever fought. Think of that. People, who make up religion, have killed more people in the name of God or whatever they called God for any other cause. Who has the right to think that God wants them to kill another for not believing as they do?

Spirituality is not religion; it is a way of life. Loving others as you love yourself is what Jesus asked us to do. He was one of the most spiritual of men and one of the best teachers on reincarnation.

One of the more popular verses in our church was in Lamentations 5:7 which states, "Our fathers sinned and are no more and we bear their punishment."

Take a look at this verse with reincarnation in mind. Our father commits a wrong and then he dies. Now Karma takes over.

As an example, let us use a deformity in another life as payment for his crime. Even though that is quite simplistic, it might go something like this.

If that man returned to physical life by being born to his son as a deformed baby, making the dead man a grandfather, would it not look as if the grandchild was paying for the sins of the grandfather? In actuality it would be the very person who
