making their own situations in which to live. Responsibility is a hard teacher, with lessons that are not easily learned.
Reincarnation helps to reinforce the education of taking accountability for one's own actions time and again. Lessons of the soul are hard to forget.
As creators, we challenge ourselves by setting up situations that call for experiences from which to learn until our soul is comfortable with our wisdom. At that point, without conscious thought, we are able to make the best choice for our souls' education.
Karma translated into reincarnation and education in the form of payment for our behavior in past lives does not necessarily mean that because you were cruel to someone in a wheelchair you will be stricken to a wheelchair in your next life. There is more than one way that you can receive your karma. Taking care of the person in the wheelchair who may be your child, your best friend or the one you are in love with could be the way you pay your past life debt. An emotional invalid is another type Karmic lesson.
Karma has more situations for life's lessons than you can be imagined.
The choice of Karma is yours, whatever it may be. God doesn't sit on a throne somewhere and say this is what you have to do. You as a creator with God make your own Karmic lessons.
There are no accidents of birth, only choices that are being and have been made by you. No one is immune to Karma. You might try to run from it for a while, but it will catch up to you in one life or another, just as your shadow follows you through life now. Making the best choices in your life is your way of staying ahead of your Karma.
This does not mean that you have to go around with a perpetual smile on your face. Karma allows everyone the opportunity to live with every emotion, lifestyle, race, religion or culture. As physical beings we need to experience all the conditions Karma affords so that we can make the best choices for our soul's growth.
