blood flow and volume within the vessels. Increased blood flow warms tissue. Vascular relaxation stops blood vessel constriction that occurs with stress.

Tension is sometimes carried in the muscles. Most people have had their shoulders ache from tension, usually followed by a headache. When people contract muscles without being aware of it, they generally feel the ill effects shortly. With Biofeedback, people can become aware when they are placing undue tension on the muscles and can learn to stop it.

Biofeedback teaches a person to take more control of his bodily functions.

Being capable of increasing and decreasing brain-wave activity makes it possible to reduce the feelings of stress through Brain Wave Training.

Brain waves are measured by the electrical firing speed in cycles per second and amplitude in micro-volts. Without brain-wave firings, the body could not perform. Five types of brain waves have been measured, named and associated with particular processes. Knowing the technical functions of the brain can assist you in becoming more aware on a psychic level.

Beta waves fire at thirteen to thirty cycles per second with a very low amplitude and a high frequency. These brain waves are associated with sensory motor areas of the brain. This is the waking state, or what is considered normal consciousness.

Alpha waves vibrate at eight to thirteen cycles per second with low amplitude and are indicative of wakeful relaxation.

Theta waves span three to seven cycles per second with low to medium amplitude. A person emitting theta waves is sleepy, already sleeping, or in a state of sleep transition.
Delta waves fluctuate from two to three cycles per second with high amplitude and low frequency. When the brain emits these waves, it is generally in deep sleep.

Mu waves are associated with physical movements or the intention to move and diminish almost as quickly as they start.
