Brain-wave activities in meditation are best utilized between the Alpha and Theta firings. This is close to a wakeful sleep and allows our brains to roam.
The Mind
In medical science the mind is an elusive item. Of course, scientists know we have a brain, which is in control of every function of the body, but they have been unable to find the area in which the mind resides. Mind, or consciousness, makes the physical body have a reason for being.
The physical body is the receptacle for the mind. The two become integrated when the spirit takes possession of the body. Then the body and mind are married until that body wears out. The mind or consciousness lives forever as the spirit that is part of God.
Descartes' quest for rationalism in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries did not include the knowledge that the brain functions on different wavelengths, but he summed up the question of mind with amazing clarity: "I think, therefore I am."
In dealing with the brain, humans create physical limitations that can become mental limitations on themselves. The mind, being clad in a human body, knows that there are certain boundaries coming solely from being in a physical embodiment. One limitation put on oneself can cause a cascade to follow.

As long as the chain is on his leg, the adult elephant believes he is still bound. Even though he could break the chain as easily as a
