Vocabulary is used for communication. Language can express feelings or emotions.
Be careful how you use words. Many of us choose our words with little thought. This can be hurtful to us as well as to others. We see in others what we like and dislike in ourselves. As individuals reflecting God as the Whole, it would be nice if we gave and received only the most positive words.
When we praise someone, his self-esteem rises. Criticism makes anyone close to the situation take a deep breath and draw inward. There is a sigh or huff as if the very air has been sucked from the room. The atmosphere becomes heavy, making it difficult to breathe. Realizing that criticism of any nature can cause this atmosphere, remember to speak nicely to yourself. In building your confidence by using high-quality words, you can accomplish any goal you wish.
Medical science is proving that words are effective when a person is in surgery. If, while his patient is under anesthetic, a surgeon tells his patient he is going to get better quicker and be healthier after the surgery, then it happens. The patient, listening to the doctor he respects, subconsciously believes what the physician is telling him. With that belief, the patient becomes stronger more quickly without side effects.
Prayer has also been found to help those convalescing even if they have no idea they are the subject of prayers.
Words are instruments of power. They can create. As such, people should be very careful in what they say.
Jesus put it very well in the Bible when he said if you speak from the heart it is so.
Putting emotion into your words creates whatever thought you may be expressing. THOUGHT AND EMOTION MANIFEST!
An example of thought and emotion manifesting is one all have heard. A coworker might say something like this: "Everything bad is happening to me lately. Both kids had to go to the doctor. Johnny has to get braces. All I have done is spend, spend, spend! It's just been horrible. I guess the only thing that's working right now is the car, but it'll probably go out any second, just like everything else."
